Dell UltraScan 1000HS
The Dell UltraScan 1000HS is sold as a high-end accompaniment to a new Dell PC for graphics professionals and power users. Our test results show that it is up to the task, performing well on most of our measures. In subjective testing, the UltraScan was a standout. It showed excellent focus, as well as fine handling of text and color. It also performed handily on most of our objective tests, garnering a top MonMark score. Its Misconvergence and Horizontal Pincushioning results, however, were subpar, though we didn't notice any problems in the subjective evaluation. One frustrating feature is the impatience of the on-screen display controls. If you don't input instructions within 10 seconds of turning a control on, it closes automatically. Still, the UltraScan delivers excellent value for a wide range of users.
